Charizma Eid Collection 2016 reviewed

The first review of this Eid season is from Charizma Embroidered Eid Collection Swiss Voile 2016 . They come up with whole new collections every few days so it's difficult to keep track of the latest, but its good in terms of variety.

The dress I am reviewing here is the one they used as the face of this collection's campaign and I must say it looks better than I imagined it to be.

It's white overall with rainbow colored embroidery. Almost reminds me of those colored gel pens  we used for writing gift cards at one point.

Anyway, so this here is the kameez. It has multiple colored embroidery of pink, blue, purple with the kameez having self design in it.

Next picture, is the various other embroidered accompaniments. You have the light brown colored embroidery to go on the neck, a floral white embroidery to go for the pants and a white Patti kind of lace for the daaman. Also you have the sleeves with slight brown embroidery over it.

The back has the same self design in white as the front. This dress has a plain white bottom/ pant/ shalwar.

The dupatta gives this dress a fresh lease of life with its vibrant hue and glossy finish. It's a beautiful texture. Not the best silk I have seen in recent times with Pakistani brands, but definitely very, very good.

Overall Pros and Cons of the catalogue

the Pros

- the colors are very basic and not getting too gaudy.

- the embroidery is plentiful as you can see for most of the dresses making it good value for money.

- the quality of embroidery is fine actually and does not make you feel like its a cheap run off the mill suit.

the Cons

- biggest drawback I think is images or butterflies on the dupattas. For an audience that is largely muslim, this is a huge miss.

- swill voile ain't no lawn so the fabric by design makes it stick onto you when wearing it. Not what you want if your weather conditions scream humidity.

- Charizma is now lacking a bit of freshness. With most of the suits it gives you the feel like you have seen these color combinations before. In the variety they have to offer, it's crying for inventiveness. 

Let's hope they deliver on that count soon.
